The older check will not open in version 3 BUT there is a converter that can quickly and easily extract all the data from your version 2 checks (account & routing numbers, logos, check register, fonts, layout, check register data, etc) and then import that into a version 3 check:

CHECKS FOLDER NOT FOUND Q. Why am I getting an error message that my check storage is not found? A. The folder where your checks are stored has a slightly different name depending on which version of CheckBuilderPro you have:


NETWORKINGQ. Does CheckBuilderPro network with other installations of CheckBuilderPro on the same network?A. No it does not have any built-in networking capability. You can set up the check storage location in Dropbox or similar cloud sync services. WHERE ARE MY CHECKS RECORDEDQ. Where can I see the checks that I've written?A. With a check open, simply click the "Check Register" button right under the bank routing and account numbers.


PRINTING BLANK CHECKSQ. How do I print a blank check without a payee and amount?A. With your check open, just click the "Blank Checks" button just under the bank routing and account numbers on the very left side of the check. Verify the starting check number and enter the number of pages. If you're printing a multiple checks per page format, you also have the option to print just 1 check. Then click "Print."


PRE-PRINTED CHECKSQ. Can I print on pre-printed checks?A. Possibly. Your checks would need to be in sheet form (8.5x11 in the tall orientation) and be Quickbooks/Quicken compatible. Checks in other formats (checks removed from a checkbook, "notebook-style" checks, etc) are not supported. We would recommend you try our free demo to make sure this will work for you.


REPRINTING A CHECKQ. How do I reprint a check that I've already printed?A. There are 2 possible ways to reprint a check:1) If the check is still listed in the "Checks To Print" window then click 1 time in the space before the payee name so that there is a check mark visible. Then print as usual. Or--2) Open the check register and click 1 time on the check you want to reprint. Then click the "Edit" icon at the top of the register window and select "Reprint."). This will add the check back to the "Checks to Print" window where you can print as usual.


In both cases the software will reprint with the same check number (even though the print window will show the next number in your sequence). Also, after printing you will get a warning that the check was not posted to the register. This is as expected as the check has already been posted.


Q. Can I print a check without a date? A. No, you cannot print a completed check (with payee and amount) without a date. You can print a blank check and fill it in manually. Then enter that check into the register manually by clicking the "Enter Transaction" button at the top of the register window. Make sure to designate it as a debit.
